It is in the Valle del Jerte where this festival has been held for over 70 years when more than a million cherry trees bloom and the valley is dressed in white to delight us with a postcard landscape. It is a festival in which cultural, sporting, gastronomic and active tourism proposals are mixed. From the airport, transfer to La Casona de Valfrío, in Cuacos de Yuste. It is a charming hotel located in the middle of nature, surrounded by a beautiful oak forest. There will be a stop in Mérida to rest, eat and visit its wall, aqueduct and cathedral. In the afternoon, at the hotel, we will enjoy a first contact with the Valle del Jerte.
Tour through all the villages of the Valle del Jerte. It is ideal to see the flowering and thus enjoy different perspectives. We will also visit the Garganta de los Infiernos Natural Reserve, a unique place where waterfalls mixes, as well as the giant pots of the area known as the pylons. The restaurant El Castillo will be our place of rest to recover strength with magnificent views of the valley. In the afternoon we have two options, either keep enjoying the valley (more light) or go to the Monfragüe National Park, which besides its scenic beauty, you can see hundreds of great raptors at first sight, especially griffon vultures, but also Black vultures and imperial eagles, plus many other species of birds.
Rest and dinner at the hotel.
