Barcelona has an incredible variety of shops and shopping areas to satisfy all tastes. From BPE we offer you the possibility of living a day of shopping accompanied by one of our personal shoppers and discover the major shopping areas of the Catalan capital.

Paseo de Gracia
Paseo de Gracia is one of the most important avenues in Barcelona for many reasons. The main one; is that the most famous Catalan modernist architectural monuments of the world are concentrated in the same street, such as Casa Mila or Casa Batlló. The area was developed in the 19th century by the architect Ildefonso Cerdá as part of his project to expand medieval Barcelona, known as L’Eixample (The Eixample). The sumptuousness of this avenue quickly attracted the Barcelona bourgeoisie, turning the area into a commercial axis that has been expanding over the years. That is the reason why, at present, the most important luxury brands in the world are fighting hand in hand for having a space in this street. In Paseo de Gracia you will find stores of brands such as Versace, Hermes, Chanel and Prada, as well as jewelry stores such as Rabat and Suarez. The avenue begins at Plaza Catalunya, right next to the Apple store, one of the largest in Spain, and ends at the edge of the Gracia district, in front of its gardens.

Diagonal Avenue: crosses the city from side to side diagonally (hence its name). For many years it was considered simply the fast track chosen by the majority of the people of Barcelona to move from one end of the capital to the other. However, over the years and the growth of the city, the Diagonal has become a very busy commercial area. Its central promenade, gardens and wide sidewalks have made it home to some of the most important luxury shops in Barcelona. In its different heights (it’s the longest street in Barcelona, with an area of 10.2 km) you can find luxury clothing stores, high-end watches and jewelery stores of the most prestigious brands. In addition to these luxurious stores, on Avenida Diagonal you will find shopping centers such as Glòries, El Corte Inglés or the famous L’Illa Diagonal. Hence, the best way to visit this area is walking and stopping in the glamorous shops located on both sides of the avenue.

El Born, located in the Ciutat Vella district, does not at first glance look like a luxury shopping area in Barcelona. El Born is a traditional neighbourhood with mainly houses as small shops, so you will not find large commercial spaces. But when you walk through its narrow streets you will come across small shops of much design, with which to soak your look or your house of “Barcelona style”. Brands of native design, typical decoration of Barcelona made with recycled materials, the most luxurious noble wood clocks or unconventional art galleries are some of the luxury products that you will only find in a neighbourhood like el Born.

The old town of Sarrià: now converted into a high standing neighbourhood, also houses some of the most select shops in the city. The high purchasing power of the inhabitants of this neighborhood means that when you walk along its cozy streets, you can find shops with the most exclusive brands. Around the corner of any street in Sarrià you will see shops of brands such as Joffret, Coquette Store or Furest. With a more quiet and residential environment, the Sarrià area is the perfect place to do your shopping, since you can be sure that the exhibit in the shops windows of Sarrià’s boutiques is one of the best in the city .

La Roca Village: Imagine a town where everything was luxury shops and you could see brands like Armani, Ralph Lauren or Bimba and Lola on every corner. That town exists and it’s called La Roca Village. It is true that it is technically a shopping center, but we have included it in this list due to its format and the brands it offers. Half an hour from the center of Barcelona, in La Roca Village you can visit shoe stores, jewelry stores, lingerie brands such as Calvin Klein, G-Star Raw or Diesel, Desigual or Custo. La Roca is a commercial space that is worth knowing in a day if what you want is to buy the most exclusive products that Barcelona puts at your fingertips.
